Job Overview : As a General Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the proper functioning and maintenance of the hotel and beach club facilities. Your responsibilities will encompass a variety of tasks related to mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and general building maintenance to uphold the safety, comfort, and functionality of the property for guests and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance tasks on mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems throughout the hotel and beach club premises. This includes checking equipment, lubricating moving parts, and replacing worn components to prevent breakdowns and prolong equipment life.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and repair issues reported by guests and staff. Troubleshoot problems with building systems, equipment, and fixtures, and perform repairs as needed to restore functionality and safety.
  • Assist with the installation, setup, and calibration of new equipment and systems, including kitchen appliances, HVAC units, lighting fixtures, and audiovisual equipment. Ensure installations comply with manufacturer specifications and building codes.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and identify potential hazards or code violations. Take corrective actions to address safety concerns, such as repairing faulty wiring, securing loose handrails, and installing safety signage. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Be available for emergency on-call duty to address urgent maintenance issues outside of regular working hours. Respond promptly to emergencies such as power outages, plumbing leaks, or equipment failures, and take appropriate action to mitigate risks and minimize disruptions.
  • Maintain an inventory of spare parts, tools, and supplies necessary for maintenance and repair work. Monitor stock levels, reorder supplies as needed, and keep accurate records of inventory transactions.
  • Keep detailed records of maintenance activities, including work orders, inspection reports, and equipment maintenance logs. Document repairs, replacements, and maintenance tasks performed, and report any significant issues or concerns to management.
  • Coordinate maintenance efforts with other departments, such as housekeeping, engineering, and facilities management, to ensure seamless operations and guest satisfaction. Communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors to prioritize tasks and address urgent maintenance needs.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Previous experience in building maintenance, facilities management, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems and equipment.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing common maintenance issues.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic computer skills for accessing maintenance software and communicating via email.
  • Indoor and outdoor work environment, including exposure to varying weather conditions.
  • Physical stamina and agility to perform tasks requiring bending, lifting, climbing, and operating power tools.
  • Flexible work hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to accommodate maintenance needs and emergencies.
  • Potential exposure to hazardous materials, chemicals, and equipment, requiring adherence to safety protocols and use of personal protective equipment.

  • Place of Employment: KUDO Hotel and Beach Club
  • Working hours: 6 days a week/ 48 hrs. per week and earlier or later as needed.
  • Day off as detailed below:
    • Low season (May – October): 6 days a month.
    • High season (November – April): 4 days a month.
